The theme: “He is Russian”.

The aims: 1. To revise the names of countries, the names of animals.
2. To exercise pupils’ tongue, to develop their listening, reading, speaking
skills.
3. To bring up love to their country and nationality, to respect other
countries and nationalities.

The aids of the lesson: The map of the World, the names countries, capitals and their nationalities, cards.

The type of the lesson: Revision

Development
I. Organization moment: Good afternoon, dear pupils, teachers!
Welcome to our today’s English lesson.
Who is on duty today?
Who is absent?

II. Phonetic drill: Before beginning the lesson, let’s train our tongue. Repeat after me the names of countries and their nationalities:
India – Indian China – Chinese France – French
Kazakhstan – Kazakh Turkey – Turkish Korea – Korean
Italy – Italian Great Britain – English The USA – American
Germany – German Japan – Japanese Spain – Spanish
Russia – Russian

III. Checking home task: What was your home task? Yes, it was to revise the last theme “He is Russian”. O’K, at first let’s act the dialogues which you prepared at home.

IV. Follow up. Activity I: Now, go to the blackboard in pairs and act the dialogue of your own. (Pupils act their dialogues).
F.ex: -Who’s this?
-He (She) is my friend
-What’s his (her) name?
-Omar (or other names).
-Where does he (she) come from?
-He (She) comes from Kazakhstan (or other countries).
-What’s his (her) nationality?
-He (She) is Kazakh (or other nationalities).

Activity II: Thank you very much. Our next task is to work with the map. Look at the blackboard, here you can see the map of the World and also the boxes with the words: The country. The capital. The nationality. On the table there are the names of countries their capitals and nationalities. I’ll name the countries and you’ll find and show us that country on the map, and put the name of that country, its capital and its nationality in the boxes.

Activity III: That’s right. Now, look at the pictures and answer my questions, please.
- Where does Michael Jackson come from? (Allah Pugacheva, Rosa Rimbaeba, Jacky Chan, Ronaldinio, Mike Tyson, Usuf Mirogly, Arnold Shvartsenegger, Patricia Kaas, etc.)
- What’s his (her) nationality?
- And now look at the pictures of animals and answer: Where do camels come from? (Tigers, bears, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys).

Activity IV: Thank you very much for your answers. There are cards with the names of countries and nationalities on my hand. I’ll give them to you and ask questions. You must answer to them. F.ex: -Where are you from? I’m from Kazakhstan.
-What’s your nationality? My nationality is Kazakh.

V. Round off: So, we have revised the theme “He is Russian”. I think that you have got much information according this theme. Open your diaries and write down your home task. It is to revise all the words and prepare for the test work.
